End of November Dump!

Today I had some time to scan and compile some stuff in my sketchbook as well as the projects from the past month. Wowza! Here we go:

Our painting teacher has been showing a lot of his work he's done for T.V and how wonky it can be. So I've been trying to practice with some wonky perspective and all that.

 Also been drawing a lot of caricatures for the upcoming character design project, and I must admit that I really love doing them. I especially love when people talk with their hands!

Recently finished and pitched my storyboard project. Our class's phrase was: "The Perfect Gift" and the project was to create an original storyboard based off that.

And lastly, this is the layout workbook package to go along with the storyboard project. This isn't the actual workbook, just the revised storyboard panels with edited backgrounds and tones. I'm not sure if people post their layouts workbooks being that they're more technical...? and whatnot, but I'm gonna post it anyway.

So that's November! Was busy, but rewarding.
I cannot wait to see my family at Christmas break. I want to play with my dog and catch up with friends and family and take a long nap....oh, and indulge in some good home cooking!

And because my dog, Lucky, is awesome and his exuberance at everything and nothing makes my day, I've decided to include a picture of him as well!

Painted Caricatures and Farm Animals

This weekend has gone by so quickly! It's been so busy at school lately, cannot wait till Winter Vacation! 

Here are some caricatures I did for character design class which I then decided to paint, cause I desperately wanted to paint something.

And some farm animals from the Royal Winter Fair. Anyone who knows me also knows that I'm highly allergic to all farm animals, and hay, and grass....and all things that are found in a farm! However, I stayed for a good 6 hours, consumed 4 Reactin pills (although the daily dosage is 1), and passed out at 7:30pm that night.

Last Painting Today

I kinda got a little hooked on speed painting. So I decided to do one more before I went to bed today. I painted this while listening to Bourne soundtracks by John Powell, I feel like it makes me paint a little faster, and now I got a playlist of it set to an hour, lol. Anyways, goodnight.

Paintings

Some paintings I did today. Each one about an hour, give or take a few minutes, seriously need to work on my speed. The first painting initially started out as a jester blowing flames over torches at some carnival event, then something happened, and yeah...lol. Hope everyone has a good weekend. 

 

Huzzah! A Rabbit Hole!

A painting I was envisioning while cutting up fruit for a Canada Day fam jam. 15 mangoes, 4 papayas, 6 quarts of strawberries and 2 pineapples, all in an hour :) Before company started arriving I managed to get it somewhat scribbled in and was hoping to finish it after, but kinda lost sight of what I started and ended up undoing a lot of additions. Hope everyone had a nice long weekend!

 Some stuff I finished over the last week. 

 I've been experimenting with different colour schemes and trying to figure out how to get things to harmonize. Here are two paintings I did over the weekend, one quite desaturated and one overly saturated, hoping to find a way to balance everything out.

   

I've also been really interested in that inked, kind of graphic, look lately and have been trying - with little success -  to mimic it on the computer. Gonna keep on going at it and hopefully one day it'll look decent.
